MD-UniverseBy the doctors. For the doctors.
Membership terms

The terms you agree to by joining.

Short, and in plain language. The part that matters most to everyone else here is section two: what members may and may not do with data that colleagues contributed in confidence.

01
Who can join

MD-Universe is for verified physicians. You confirm that the credentials you give at signup are your own and accurate, and that you will keep one account rather than sharing access with anyone else.

Some accounts are created directly by MD-Universe for people we know personally, where a credential check is not possible. Those are recorded as such and carry no additional rights.

02
What member data you may do with

The compensation benchmark, the member directory, job and gig listings, deal listings, and vendor offers are available to you as a member, for your own professional and career decisions — evaluating an offer, negotiating a contract, finding work, or assessing an opportunity for yourself.

You may not republish, redistribute, scrape, bulk-export, or feed this data into any commercial product or service. That includes recruiting, consulting, benchmarking, staffing, lead generation, and resale, whether or not money changes hands.

You may not share your login, and you may not pass member data to anyone who is not a member.

03
What happens if you do

Accounts found doing any of the above are closed, without refund of anything paid. MD-Universe may also pursue legal action for breach of these terms.

Access is logged against your account. We use those logs to investigate misuse and for nothing else.

04
What you contribute

Compensation figures, directory details, and anything else you submit must be truthful to the best of your knowledge. Reports are spot-checked, and figures that appear implausible may be excluded from the aggregates.

By submitting compensation you allow it to be included in aggregate statistics shown to other members. Individual figures are never published on their own, and a specialty or market is withheld until enough colleagues have reported that no single person can be identified from it.

You keep ownership of what you write. You give MD-Universe permission to display it to members and to include it in aggregates.

05
What belongs to MD-Universe

The selection, structure, and presentation of the data on this site, along with the site itself and the MD-Universe name, belong to MD-Universe.

That is a claim about the compilation, not about the underlying facts.

06
What this site is not

Nothing here is financial, investment, legal, tax, or medical advice. Compensation figures are self-reported by members and unaudited — treat them as what colleagues say they earn, not as a survey.

A listing appearing on MD-Universe means it met the published criteria. It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a substitute for your own diligence and your own advisors.

MD-Universe is not a party to any transaction, employment arrangement, or investment you enter into through something you found here.

07
Ending your membership

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We will remove your directory card and your login. Compensation you contributed stays in the aggregates in de-identified form, because removing it would distort figures other members have already relied on.

We may close an account that breaches these terms, or that we can no longer verify as a practising physician.

08
Changes

These terms may change as MD-Universe grows. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the site means accepting them.
